Alex Shahbazi is a Research Assistant with SEARCH as well as a master’s candidate in International Environmental Policy at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. He is an avid conservationist, writer, and science communicator. Along with SEARCH and his graduate studies, Alex has researched Arctic policy with the World Wildlife Fund and spent years working for environmental non-profits in community outreach, environmental education, and behavior change.
Alex holds a bachelor’s degree in physics with a minor in creative writing from Lawrence University and is a National Association for Interpretation Certified Interpretive Guide. His professional accomplishments include building a science communication volunteer program, connecting the public to wildlife and conservation, and organizing sustainability campaigns at an internationally recognized zoo.
