Savannah Venetis Fletcher was raised on Whidbey Island, Washington, and has called Fairbanks, Alaska home since she finished her schooling. Savannah serves on the Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly and works in her community as a civil rights attorney. Much of her work today focuses on tribal sovereignty, community advocacy for better schools, and creating a more sustainable and resilient community.
Savannah has a J.D. from Stanford Law School, an M.S. in Environment and Resources from Stanford University, and a B.A. in English and Archaeology from Columbia University. Prior to her current roles, she worked as a legal aid attorney representing all 40 Tribes in the Tanana Chiefs Conference in Interior Alaska, and volunteered as a Planning Commissioner, a tutor, and a volleyball coach.
